The five-time World Champion, Ronnie O’Sullivan aims to win another World Championship trophy and reach one less than the champion of the snooker new era, Stephen Hendry leading with 7 trophies. Last time when the rocket lost in the first round was in 2003, as Ronnie’s second 147 at the Crucible could stop Fu winning that match 10-6.
Craig Steadman is making his debut at the Crucible at the age of 33 years. Rock-Steady reached the last 16 of a world ranking event for the first time in his career at the 2014 China Open, this year losing the quarter-final of a minor tournament, 3-4 to Mark Davis by EPT Event 5. After beating Rhys Clark with 10-5 in the first qualifying round, he made a big surprise in the second one by beating Michael White 10-5, in the first session of the match making two centuries of 140 and 116 points. In the decisive round, he saw leading 6-3 at the end of the first session after Steadman won the last 3 frames, finally closing the match with Jamie Burnet at 10-6.
