Fergal O’Brien vs Kurt Maflin preview (World Snooker Championship last round qualifier)

Fergal O’Brien

What a match this will be, both players showing superb forms in previous two rounds. At the age of 43 the Irishman has the peak of his career, last year reaching the final at the Gdynia Open in Poland. The Fearless Fergal (The Baby-Faced Assassin) impressed in his first two matches, making display of a solid break building and realizing 3 century breaks, 2 in second round match, 10-8 with Wakelin, and 1 century in the first round, 10-5 against Miah.

Maflin couldn’t repeat the good performance from the first round, when he made 2 centuries in the win 10-5 over David Grace, maybe because his opponent from second round preferred scrappy frames, but the winner has never been in doubt, break of 64, 83, 57 and 81 lifting the score line to an outbalanced 10-1 victory with Steve Davis.

H2H: Muflin 2-1 http://www.cuetracker.net/Head-to-Head/Fergal-OBrien/Kurt-Maflin
Prediction: toss of coin.
Betting perspectives: none as century markets are not offered, otherwise I see at least one in the match, maybe one made by each player.
