Kalmar are a bitter disappointment this season. In their last match they put on a terrible display losing at home against a much more inspired Göteborg. Only 6 goals scored in 8 matches and 7 points gained is nothing to brag about. If we consider the fact that Kalmar will next host Malmo and then travel to Norrkoping, which seem superior opponents this season, this match at Falkenbergs looks like their best chance of getting some points in the near future.
Today’s hosts aren’t having a great start either as they sit just a point and a place above their visitors. Despite this the moral should be higher since they come into this match after a win 1 – 0 againt Halmstad. Falkenbergs’ coach, Hans Eklund, trained Kalmar last season so it’s safe to assume he knows them inside out, giving his team a clear edge even before the start. The hosts will miss their right-back Tibor Joza due to a calf rupture but will probably get back Rasmus Sjöstedt , a former player of Kalmar as well.
This match is very important for both teams but I can’t help thinking that somehow Falkenbergs will find a way to edge their opponents today. Their schedule seemed much harder than Kalmar’s and this seems like a good chance for them as well to grab some points against a similar weaker opponent.
