The fairytale continues for the Foxes, still unbelievable on top of the league, they face a team closer to the basement, but a team not to be taken too lightly in Crystal Palace. Leicester have defeated some of the big names, but they have also consistently put away some teams that could be potential banana skins, and they will be hoping to extend their five-point lead on top of the table with another solid win.
While Leicester’s form has been excellent, just one loss in the past five games, their opponents haven’t seen a victory in their last 12 games. After such a solid start to the competition the Eagles have dropped down to 15th position and are not a million miles away from the relegation zone.
Alan Pardew and his team will be ruing missed opportunities against the likes of Liverpool and West Brom, and even against Sunderland where they drew 2-2. But they will also be aware that Leicester will be a whole other beast that will not give them even a sniff of a chance.
Claudio Ranieri’s side, with the like of striking sensation Jamie Vardy at the helm, have had a number of their opponents try and set up a defensive wall for the clean striking Foxes, but that has barely slowed down the league leaders thus far.
Although Vardy has gone slightly off the rapid boil he was on in terms of goal scoring, the Foxes still have the impressive Riyad Mahrez as well as Leonardo Ulloa, Danny Drinkwater and Andy King to do the work in front of goal.
It is bound to be another tough game for the Eagles, who are not a proud defending side to begin with, they now have the unenviable task of taking on the league leaders. It will be another case of disappointing after such a good start and for Alan Pardew there is little more he can do but accept the inevitable.
