Adam Duffy vs Jamie Jones preview (World Snooker Championship last round qualifier)

jamie jones

Starting with German Master this year, Duffy showed big improvements of his game, pushing meetings of short format with Robertson and Trump to deciding frame. In round one he controlled the game against a more experienced Martin Gould, the only moment when Gould gave the impression that he can play at the same level with Duffy was when he pushed the score to 2-3 after losing the first 3 frames of the encounter. Immediately Duffy built winning breaks of 120 and 75 which helped him to secure a clear win. The second round match was different as Baird looked to be a tough opponent, as from 2-0 up Duffy saw himself led 3-6 at the end of first session, the crucial point of this game being favorable to Adam who then won the last four frames of the meeting, ending the game, 10-7.

Jamie Jones had 2 impressive wins in the previous 2 games, 10-3 with Carty and 10-5 with Pengfei, in round 2 having 5 winning breaks. Given the fact that Jones reached the quarter-finals at the Crucible in 2012, I see the good run of Duffy ending here.
